“Home is where you make it” is a proverb that needs expansion. I am at home anywhere, or at least am confident in my ability to fashion a home suitable to my tastes out of any environment to which I am subjected. That is because home is a notion born of a sense of self. The physical home is an external expression and by-product of that self.  It is much the same as to say home is something carried around with you. It is primarily something internal. It is the introspective guide which draws those things from outside to include and repels what it finds objectionable out of doors. I am home because I have found myself."
